So, it’s exciting to imagine what incredible features and capabilities future phones will have. Here’s some ideas on what you might be able to expect from the next generation of new phone.

Mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives. We’ve all done it – that panicked pitter patter across your body when you suddenly realise your new phone is not on your person. Followed by that breath of relief when you discover the device that holds your whole life had been hiding in your back pocket this whole time. This reaction is exactly because our phone hold so much of our information. When you buy a new mobile phone, you’re not only buying a device. You’re buying a companion to store your life in. Contacts, Photos, Social Life, Banking, Business. All of it.

Scientists predict that mobile phones will become more and more embedded into our everyday, especially as their capabilities and functionalities continue to expand and grow. Industry experts reckon that our mobile phones will become full, real-time remote controls for our lives.

So, what can you expect from your new phone in the future?

A lot of our predictions come from concept phones. Either those put forward by industry leaders, or those we see in films and television. The first thing many of us think of when it comes the phones of the future is a holographic display. We’ve seen it so many movies and it just looks so cool! Holographic functionalities for phones have been rumoured to come around as early as 2014, with a lot of speculation around the iPhone 7 release. Still, consumers in 2020 are waiting for this feature. Queen’s University in Canada have been making advancements with their prototype called Holoflex since 2014. Perhaps, holographic displays will be on the cards sooner than we thought.

The next feature we’ve seen already coming into play with mobile phones is flexible frames. Malleable, move-able phones are an interesting concept. Current advancements in this category include Samsung’s latest offering the Galaxy Z Flip. Plus, many flagship devices from industry leaders are already offering curved edge phones. However, the future is looking far more flexible. Nokia’s Research Laboratory at Cambridge have been working on their prototype called ‘The Morph’, which is designed to be a mobile phone you can re-shape around your wrist.

There also seems to be a steady move towards eco-technology and environmentally friendly devices. With the growing strain that our world and ecology are under, it’s easy to understand why many consumers want eco-conscious options when they want to buy a new mobile phone. Companies like Kyocera have already released a solar-powered prototype and there’s many more exciting advancements to look forward to.

Of course, no one can guarantee that any of these features or functionalities will even be present, with the rapid advancement we’ve already seen in the last ten years, it’s not hard to imagine how much is still to come.

The new phone offerings coming from industry leaders continue to surprise, so there is so much to look forward to when it comes to mobile phones. Currently in the market to buy a new mobile phone? Contact Telechoice today to make sure you the best deal at the best price.
