Samsung Pay vs Apple Pay: Which is Better?

When you’re considering buying a new phone, it’s good to know which offer the best capabilities. Whether you’re choosing to buy iPhone or buy Samsung, you have probably considered their mobile payment platforms- and if not, you should.

Not sure what either is offering? Here’s a quick look at the Wallet capabilities offered by both iPhone and Samsung.

The close competition between Samsung and Apple as industry leaders is quite well known. The Apple iPhone 11 and Samsung Galaxy S20 are both ranked as the top two phones for 2020, each trumping the other depending on where you look. Which is better is always a hot topic, with a very clear rift between consumers who buy Samsung and those who buy iPhone.

Still, both manufacturers offer a wide range of capabilities for consumers, including their extensive mobile payment platforms.

These digital communication technologies allow consumers to perform monetary transaction from their phone, creating easy payment solutions for everyone. Apple released their Apple Pay platform as early as 2014 and have been improving it ever since. Samsung have followed close behind releasing their Samsung Pay platform in 2015. Samsung offers a digital wallet service almost all of their flagship devices.

Now let’s compare:

Which is More Convenient?

Honestly, both provide quite a lot of convenience to the consumer. The whole point of a digital wallet is to provide ease of access to consumers.

Samsung’s platform is available in 25 countries, allows in-app purchases and works with NFC terminals.

iPhone comes in slightly better, however, boasting availability in 52 countries as well as in-app purchases and NFC terminals.

Still, Samsung e-wallet offering allows you to effortlessly send money (and earn some extra cash-back points while doing so).

Which Technology is Better?

Again, both are pretty good. Samsung offer their MST (Magnetic Secure Transactions) on any of their platforms. Whereas, with Apple, it’s slightly more limited.

In terms of protection and encryption, Samsung boasts a super-secure service with their additional security layer, called Samsung Knox. A Very welcomed feature by those who buy Samsung.

However, iPhones are also known for their heavy encryption and advanced security. A plus point for those who buy iPhone. More so, Apple allows you save more extensive information within the platform.

The Apple Wallet not only allows you to store multiple cards, but you can now also store your Boarding pass, movie tickets and even your school ID.

Again, it really depends on what you want from your new phone. Personal preference will always matter most. Both provide really great platforms that will allow you to make monetary transactions effortlessly from your new phone.
